First... I would like to commend the members of this group! I have learned more from this bulletin board than I have in any of the books I've read!!!

I am using an Access 2000 front-end/SQL 2000 back-end. I have been successful in launching DTS packages using VBA (with much thanks to this group), however, when I attempt to launch it on another computer... I get an error that an "Active-X component cannot create Object". Here's where I think I began to have problems... While all referenced packages appeared to be there when I look at the code... If I attempt to repoint to that DLL on that machine... the DLL is not in the list. I can navagate to the DLL in the appropriate directory... which will put it back in the list... but this does not correct the problem.

Can anyone assist??? (especially if I am totally off in left field! :-)

What has happened here is that while the DLL is located on the computer, it is not registered.

You can possibly register it using the regsvr32 command:

Example:

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\myfile.dll

Registering of DLL files should occur on the installation of your application. This can be done with the Package & Deployment Wizard or any third party installation creation package.
