I seem to have a problem with Access loading switchboards, In my new DB I don't actually use a switchboard and have not seen this problem come up but I am looking at other ways of using the switchboard and when I load the SB it comes up with the following error box:

Run-time Error '-2147024769 (8007007f)':
Method `Connection of object`_CurrentProject` failed.

If I then choose debug, it highlights the following line of code within the switchboard form VB code:

Set con = Application.CurrentProject.Connection

Now if I go into references (under the tools option) I have the following choosen :

Visual Basic For Applications
Microsoft Access 11.0 Object Library
OLE Automation
Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library.

Is there anything else I need to set or am I looking in the wrong area ?
I'm also running Access 2003 SP1 on Windows XP Pro.

I have also tried to create a new DB several times but get the same problem.

Any help would appreciated

Can anyone offer any help with this one ?

Thanks

I actually contacted Microsoft about this very error, and though still in the midst of working it out, I wanted to pass on what I know so far.

If you go to the Microsoft site, and download the MDAC Utility: Component Checker (I'd give you the URL, but it is far easier to do a search), and run it on the computer that is giving you this error message, you will get a list of DLL matches, mismatches, and nonexistents. I found this happening on two WIN XP Pro machines, both with SP2 installed. The utility told me that there were a number of DLL's that were just not there.

Microsoft has told me to uninstall the SP2, and then reinstall it. However, since this is a problem dealing with the MDAC, I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to upgrade the MDAC before reinstalling SP2, or if reinstalling SP2 would upgrade the MDAC. So I sent my contact with Microsoft a question about that.

The Microsoft answer to my question is quoted here:

"I have checked your file and find both of your machine are Windows XP,
which was upgraded to SP2. Some of the registry is mismatched. For instance: C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\ado\msado15.dll

Unfortunately, MDAC is NOT able to downgrade and uninstall, the MDAC within SP2 is 2.81 and MDAC within XP is 2.71 and downloadable MDAC is 2.80 RTM. I am sorry to say but have to say that the only way to resolve this issue, you will have to uninstall SP2 and then reinstall it to upgrade MDAC.

Please reinstall and let me know whether it works."
