Event Procedure to open and import excel

Still extreme newbie.
I want to be able to assign a macro to a button that allows the user to point to an excel file. Open the excel file and import (append) the data into an existing table. I have made sure that the excel file has the same column headings as the access table. I am able to manually import the data so I know the formating is correct. I have searched many threads and tried lots of variations but keep comming up with errors.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
