Hi,

For making a database available from outside I copied it onto our server and want to reach it via remote desktop - the idea works perfectly. However a good part of my events don't work for some reason. Some do, some don't, and always the same don't work, unfortunately I can't find any rule. Can't even debug because the process does not start but a general error message appears that tells something like this:
'An error occured during the communication between the application (Microsoft Access) and the OLE server or ActiveX controller'
On the server I made a virtual PC with Win7 and Access 2013. The database otherwise runs perfectly on Win7/Access 2013 on any of our other PCs.
Any advise would be highly appreciated.

Peter

the Virtual pc must have all the components that a regular PC with access installed would have.
this includes all OLE objects, and ActiveX items registered in the sys32 folder.

Is this the case?

Thanks for your feedback.

I'm not really familier with these system stuff. You mean the directory Windows/system32? That is full of hundreds of files. How can I know which to check for existance on the virtual PC?
Both the pcs and virtual pcs are 64 bit ones. Is that important?

Thanks

Peter
