Hi I was asked by a couple of people on how to use MS Access to do some cataloging of disks. The attached file is very simple DB which is aimed primarily at cataloging MP3 files (and identifying those with parts of the tags missing). It is still in development and and can be improved upon dramatically (but I have no time). It can do approximately 150,000 mp3 files in about an hour (slow isnt it).
Please if you improve upon it re-post it back here for others to use.
UPDATED 15 Feb 2010 to add search and faster cataloging. Also changed the subforms to combine 3 subforms to one using tab control. Still slow but working on this....
UPDATED 17 Feb 2010 updated search facility now very fast (used different approach via tables) removed some non necessary coding.
UPDATED 18 Feb 2010 made searh functions faster added some more functionality and fixed a couple of bugs.
UPDATED 25 Feb 2010: added windows media player control and fixed small referencing bugs, added new search parameters (database too big for this forum so left older one in. If you want it email me)
Please give me your comments and is it useful to some people.
