can anyone see what wrong with...

If Not IsNumeric(Left(lSht_invoice.Range(colRef & iRow), 6).Value) And Mid(lSht_invoice.Range(colRef & iRow).Value, 7, 1) <> "/" Then

... i keep getting an : object requires message.
