Exclusive use not excluding

Hi,
In Access 2007, I have a db set for exclusive use, but I can open it on one pc, and then open it on a 2nd PC just fine.

I've tried using the /excl command line.
I've tried changing the db default to open exclusively.

What am I missing???

You are opening the backend of a split database or using a frontend to connect to a backend? Open Exclusive only works with the database file that is being opened. And if you have two frontends, and are opening from the frontend, the frontend is what is opened exclusive, not the backend.

Oh, never mind.... I thought this sounded familiar so I checked my old posts. It's the same problem I had a year ago. You have to preface the db name with the access.exe path in the shortcut, or \excl doesn't get applied.
