Is it possible to export a subdatasheet with a query into excel? My delima is that I have to reconcile an account and the information is in two different tables...One for one company and one for our information. I need to show which entries match and which don't. Anyway...is this possible? Thanks

export

It sounds to me like you need to create a query with all of your data and exporting the results of the query into excel. I am not sure if I fully understand the situation as it may be more complex than that. Can you provide some more details?

Well, I actually had to end up correcting a lot of user errors in order to get the queries to work correctly. Once the data was correct a regular query worked great. Thanks for your reply.

i have tried linking two of the tables in connection in a query.... it does come up as a subdatasheet but when i try to export it only exports one table......

A query is meant to take multiple tables and make them into one "table" if you will, so that might be why it is exporting as one table. Can you explain a little more what it is you are trying to do?

yes well thank you for your immediate response...

basically i have 6 tables all linked together which performs different levels of information as a subdatasheet.... what i want to do is able to expand them all and able to export that view into an excel or txt file.....

anilvaghela I haven't ever found that can be done directly. Instead, consider one of these:

1) create a query that returns the information that would be in
table+subdatasheet and export that.

2) create a (very simply laid out) report using a query like that in
(1) as its source, grouped and sorted to give the result you need;
then export the report.

Exporting a report to excel will give you the subdatasheet look that you have in access depending on how you group the report. Let me know if you need additional help.

Hi,
There is an Access add-in called 'A2EE.mda' that can do this - it exports Access datasheets with subdatasheets to MS Excel so that both levels (datasheet and subdatasheet) get exported to Excel in drill-down view.
There are a lot of configuration option in user interface of this add-in.
Add-in is easy to be found on the Internet.

You may use the tool MultiLevelExporter (find it on the web) that exports contents of subdatasheets and subforms from Access to Excel.
