Extra space at bottom of form in Access

I have never been able to figure out how Access handles forms. I have made a form that is exactly 2 1/2" in design view. There is no empty space on the bottom of the form but When I switch it to form view Access adds another 1" or so of blnak space to the bottom of the form.

How do I make a form look at Run-Time exactly the way it does in design time?

Talismanic-

After you switch to Form View click Window>Size to Fit Form, Then Ctrl-S to Save the form. It should resize to your design dimensions, and the Save will make it remember next time it opens. Take care when you are in Design View - if you resize the form to see more of it, then save, you'll need to redo the Size to Fit Form thing again.

Interesting question!

I may be wrong on this one but it always seems to be the case that the form/window when viewed in design view will have the normal headers/footers (if selected) and the detail section but also some space given for the menu bar and tool bar when in design view. So the window height will be a combination of all of this - your 2 1/2" plus another 1" perhaps for the toolbars etc. Therefore if you want aform to appear as a certain height (i.e. not maximized) then make the design window approx. 1" shorter than the desired height of the form. This will mean some vertical scrolling in design view to see all the controls ... so probably one of the last adjustments/settings you want to do before finishing the design work.

Rich@ITTC, that is how I usually handle sizing forms but I have never liked that method becase of the scrolling and for some reason I couldn't get this one exactly how I wanted it to look. Jimbrooking's solution worked perfectly though.

I have this issue but with the space to the right of the form.
Fit window to form leaves a fair size gap but if I try to shrink the window any more the form controls start to disappear off the left of the form.

It's never bothered me before because I have been using continuous forms and had a right scrollbar but now on singles it looks silly. Scrollbars are set to neither.
