I have two tables which make up the fields for two forms. The first step is putting together the job estimate, using the Department field, Job Type, Job Description fields (all cascading combo boxes). The second is for once the job has been accepted, and has the above three fields along with another cascading combo box showing the staff available for the Dept selected for the estimate. The second form works fine but when I select the Department in the 1st form (Estimates form), I get "field cannot be updated" and although it seems to save the record, an autofill in field I have as part of the cascading combo boxes doesn't work. I'm assuming it's because the person isn't being allocated at this point but how do I get round it?
