Is there a way add the "/" and 2012 in the default database, 2012. By default, I mean creating a database and then going into the field properties.

Can you be a bit more specific on what you are trying to do? Is this a form you are referring to in the database that has a field on it? Please clarify.

Yes. In design view, input mask. All my data is ??/??/2012.
The mask is 99/99/\20"12";;_""

This is what it defaulted to when I selected Short Date. It locks up, value not appropiate is message when I type in 0815. All years are always 2012. This is a short job.

Try this: Change the mask to this: 99/99;0;_. When entering the date you must enter 8/15 with the slash. But don't enter the year. Once you tab off the field it should put the current year in.

99/99;0;_
99/99;0;_,
99/99;0;_.
99/99;0;2012

No luck

Try using the BeforeUpdate Property of the control to append "/2012" to the text property of the control.

(It would also be a good idea to test for the user having already entered the full date.)

I was able to get it to work using 99/99;0;_ as the input mask. So basically, if I do not want to enter the "0's" then I need to enter the "/" or I can enter the "/" and not the "0's".

At least that is how it seems to be working for me.

Thanks for your help.

Bob
