Hi,
As most of users I need help:)

Im worknig on db of archaeological found and besides informations about it i will need to add photosof them.

I know access doesnt really-well cooperate with image..
I try simply this
Two tables.
tbl1st - information about artifact and ID (primary key)
tbl2nd - image path and connection ID (foreing key?)
I found on ms knowledge db this code
Code:
Private Sub cmdFileDialog_Click()

'Declare a variable as a FileDialog object.
Dim fd As FileDialog

'Create a FileDialog object as a File Picker dialog box.
Set fd = Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker)

'Declare a variable to contain the path
'of each selected item. Even though the path is a String,
'the variable must be a Variant because For Each...Next
'routines only work with Variants and Objects.
Dim vrtSelectedItem As Variant

'Use a With...End With block to reference the FileDialog object.
With fd

'Change the contents of the Files of Type list.
'Empty the list by clearing the FileDialogFilters collection.
.Filters.Clear

'Add a filter that includes all files.
.Filters.Add "All files", "*.*"

'Add a filter that includes GIF and JPEG images and make it the first item in the list.
.Filters.Add "Images", "*.gif; *.jpg; *.jpeg", 1

'Use the Show method to display the File Picker dialog box and return the user's action.
'The user pressed the action button.
If .Show = -1 Then

'Step through each String in the FileDialogSelectedItems collection.
For Each vrtSelectedItem In .SelectedItems

'vrtSelectedItem is a String that contains the path of each selected item.
'You can use any file I/O functions that you want to work with this path.
'This example simply displays the path in a message box.
MsgBox "Path name: " & vrtSelectedItem

Next vrtSelectedItem
'The user pressed Cancel.
Else
End If
End With

'Set the object variable to Nothing.
Set fd = Nothing

End Sub
Its work fine, but How to save the result "vrtSelectedItem" to field imagepath in tbl2nd?

I know this is basics... but Im archaeologist not db coder:)

thx to all

Thomas,

Right after your message box:

DoCmd.RunSQL "Insert Into tbl2nd (imagepath) Values ('" & vrtSelectedItem & "');"

Wayne

Code:
Option Compare Database

Private Sub Příkaz0_Click()
On Error GoTo Err_Příkaz0_Click

    Dim stDocName As String
    Dim stLinkCriteria As String

    stDocName = "Imageform"
    stLinkCriteria = "[IDID]=" & Me![ID]
    DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria

Exit_Příkaz0_Click:
    Exit Sub

Err_Příkaz0_Click:
    MsgBox Err.Description
    Resume Exit_Příkaz0_Click

End Sub
Private Sub Příkaz3_Click()
On Error GoTo Err_Příkaz3_Click

    Dim stDocName As String
    Dim stLinkCriteria As String

    stDocName = "Imageform"

    stLinkCriteria = "[IDID]=" & Me![ID]
    DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria

Exit_Příkaz3_Click:
    Exit Sub

Err_Příkaz3_Click:
    MsgBox Err.Description
    Resume Exit_Příkaz3_Click

End Sub
Private Sub cmdFileDialog_Click()

'Declare a variable as a FileDialog object.
