Hi All – I have just encountered a strange problem in my long running DB. Users enter a clients name, surname and DOB and the system checks for existing records; if none, we need to know if the client exists in the master file. The user clicks a button displaying all records for the entered DOB and if the client isn’t listed they enter a different screen and search the master file by surname, using mis-spelling combinations, etc. Everything was working fine until last week. Up to now (for various reasons) I have not locked the users out using all of the ‘background stuff’ – they have been allowed to alter tables and forms, add queries etc. We’re now at a point where that needs to stop. I don’t want to use the options in Startup and have been searching for another alternative. Last week I found the Command Line option /noruntime which seemed to do just what I wanted. But I added this to the Shortcut on all the systems. Today I went into the Lookup Screen to find a client and lo and behold, the Filter by Form button on the toolbar does not clear the form. I exited and used my shortcut without the /noruntime and it works fine. Any ideas why just the Filter by Form would not work ? Thanks
