Filter by Form

The Solutions.MDB application has a suppliers form that is filtered based on the alphabet charactor chosen by the user at the bottom of the form. How does the form filter records based on the selected alphabet charactor?

Not sure about a form but in reports like in the northwind.mdb you set it to prefix characters under sorting and grouping.
