Dear all,

I have a database for authorising absences from a sixth form college. The student fills in a form and then the housemaster either authorises or declines. When a form has been authorised it no longer needs to be seen so I want to filter these out on the form load. So can anyone tell me how to filter out all forms with an entry in the 'authorised' text box?

Cheers

Aubrey

Hi Aubrey

Is the form based on a query? If so (and mine are) just add a line on the query, under the [authorised] field saying

<> "authorised"

this assumes the field is a text box and has the word authorised in it! I would probably want to make this field a tick box.

do this help?

Hey Ian,

No its not based on a query...it just takes the entries from a table. I was wondering if there was a DoCmd.Filter function that I could use.

The text box has the teachers initials in it i.e. CC which is how they wanted it

You can put filters on form load, if your in Office 2007 (Don't no about 2003) go to 'Data' tab and you will see 'Filter on form load' = TRUE and Filter = fieldname = FALSE ? Something like that
