Hi All
I have a continous form with over 600 film events on it.
for each record a combo box drops down with all the available films in it - and the id of that film is stored in the events table. The combo box itself, has several columns of course, the aforementioned ID, also the film name, run time, certificate etc.
I want a text box at the top of the form, where i can type in the partial name of a film and, after update, the form will be filtered according to what i have typed in.
for this to work i have tried
Dim strfilter
strfilter = strfilter & "([filmcopyid].column(1) like '*" & Me.likefilm & "*')"
Forms("main flicks events form").Form.Filter = strfilter
Forms("main flicks events form").Form.FilterOn = True
I can get this to work if i type in the films ID, but i dont of course always know the films ID, but i do know the film name.
The problem is course referencing the column of the combobox.
Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong?
thanks
