Find average of tickets written by days worked

I have a table containing information about traffic tickets written including the date written. I want to create a table to enter the month/year and number of days worked in that month. How do I bring all the tickets written by a particular officer for a specified month and divide the total tickets into the number of days that officer wrote for that month.
