hi I was just about to pass in my database when my supervisor decided to rearrange the way data is gathered.

originally he wanted to manually type in if the volunteer was new or returning ( a yes/no field) now he want the computer to add the values for him and place them into the report.

I did find a thread: http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000397.html
and was wondering if someone could tell me if that is the type of code I would need to use.

I am to cross reference the first and last name fields along with the membership type and club type to try and make sure most of the possible duplicates are removed. Adding a unique identifyer for each member would not be acceptable for him as one member can participate in many activities. I do however have an identifyer for each activity.

My supervisor realizes that an occassional duplicate may not be filed as a new member when it is really a new member but he feels that the instances will be very slight and is willing to accept that.

Once other question...how would i get the new versus old members identified them for counting.

Please remember I am a workterm student and do not understand a lot of the syntax yet, but i'm trying.

Any help at all would be appriciated.

Thanks all.
