Afternoon all, I am puzzle by probably a simple query. I currently have a queries that finds all matches by Surname and Date of Birth, ie I have a table of temporary unit numbers and a table with actual unit numbers, and daily this is run and it shows possible matches.
How would I run the same query ie Surname and DOB, BUT omit the 1st letter from the surname leaving possible matches ie. 'SMITH 13/11/77' matches to 'MITH 13/11/77'
The reason being Ive noticed over 7000 records that are missing a 1st letter from a surname, and raking through over half a million to find these is not ideal lol!!
