Anybody ever use Access to create a pseudo-schematic of a floor plan? I created one in order to track computer equipment and employee seating on my floor.
I am looking for comments on the following and any suggestions you could make. Thanks!
1- I'm thinking about using Visio for the actual drawing. The problem is, I want to be able to click on a location and show the employee and equipment information associated with the location. I know that Visio uses VBA, which should make it easier, but don't know if that means it will be "easy".
2- I'd like to be able to show user names in the floor locations, but I can't get the font small enough to print legibly if the form itself needs to fit onto a printed 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Last time I checked, you couldn't shrink a form to print onto a specific size page and you couldn't zoom in or out of a form on screen. (I know you can resize form controls dynamically, but that would be more trouble than it's worth.)
