form asks for a parameter query in a subform which is already there.

I have set up a subform with two combo boxes, one dependent on the other linked through a query. the subform works when it is by itself but i get prompted to type in a parameter when i use the subform in the main form, i have no idea why.

I am also having trouble setting the Requery on the subform. Each time the dependent is chosen i need it to reset for the next choice, it doesnt want to do this. i have tried putting it afterupdate, click etc. do i need to requery both fields?
