I am creating a form with subforms. When I try to add a combo box in the Form Header which is to select a record in the Form Body the wizard only offers me two options.
1 I want the combo box to get value…
2 I will type the values I want….
There is no
3 Find a record on my form based on the value…
“Use control wizards” is selected in the Form Layout Tools in the Design tool bar.
The form is a standard client form not a web compatible form
And the database is a “database (Acess 2007-2010) – Microsoft Access

Why is the Combo Box design wizard only offering me two options?
Thanks Peter

Have you included the primary key in the combobox and the subform?

(Edited:) In the subform. The PK must be in the subform to be able to look up the correct record.

No I did not have the main tables pk in the subform, after adding the main forms primary key to the subform there was no change in the ComboBox wizard`s dialog box. I still have only 2 option available on the first screen the wizard offers up. The option of selecting the pk in the combo box comes on a later wizard dialog box.
I then tried the ComboBox wizard on the main form, with no subform attached. Same result. There are only 2 options offered to me from the ComboBox wizard. I saw the third option of `Find the record....`on a video, otherwise I would not have known it was how to do this. From my memory of years ago, mid nineties there was another type of Combo Box you choose to do this task but I don`t see anything like that now and the third option in the video’s ComboBox wizard clearly does the job.
Thank you for your response. I just noticed the `Smilies` that bangs his head on a brick wall. It brought me a smile but I still can`t bring myself to include them.

Nest question: Are the mainform and the subform based on the same table or query?
