I have been playing around with mdb's off and on for a few years, but I still consider myself pretty new to many things, so your patience is appreciated.

I have created a form that will list all of my movies. It shows the movie title, year, and rating. I created a second form that shows a detailed view of the same information, plus it shows an image, and a memo box with a description of the movie.

Form 1: Movie Title, Year, Rating
Form 2: Title, Year, Rating, Description, Image
(both forms are from same table)

What I want to do is when looking on the first form, click a button to trigger an event that will open the second form to the correct record. (thus displaying the same movie, only with all of the details)

I think I am almost there, but need help adjusting the expression as it is not working correctly.

In form 1 that just shows the list of movies, I have a button next to each record, that when clicked runs an embedded macro with the following information:

Action: OpenForm
Where Condition - Expression: "[Title]=" & "'" & [Movie Title] & "'"

The where expression is what I believe needs to be adjusted. This is actually what the wizzard created when i added the button in design view, and it sounded like it is what I needed, but instead, it just opens a window asking for the movie title, and no matter what i type it shows every record in form 2.

So how can I go about getting the button next to each record, open the second form with the matching record?

Thanks!

Hmmmm,
I know the wizards always do stuff like this, but have you tried:
Expression: "[Title]=" & [Movie Title]

Or better yet, use the unique ID (key) as the filter

"[ID] = " & [ID]
