Simple problem but I have my thivk head on tonight !!!
I have a form that has several fields that hold data pulled from a query.
I have a particular field that looks up in a pull down list a 'Department'
If the Department is new and not already listed one (ie not in the Dept Table) then Access does not let me type it directly in the pull down box, giving the following popup:- 'the text you entered isn't an item in the list'. I can under stand why becasue it does not exist in the Dept table.
But heres the thing I can without closing the form fire up a little form I created to update the table directly and the new data goes into the table no problem.
All I want it to do is update the pull down list without leaving the user form I have open.
I do intend to give the user access to this update form I just need to get the pull down to update when I close the Dept update form.
Any help would be appreciated,
