I have a bit of a problem which i really can't figure out. I'm only in the testing stages of building a form to edit data so i'm using visual basic editor to open the form using code to populate the fields.

Sometimes when i open the form it appears very small so only half the close button is showing and other times it opens at the correct size as saved previously. If it does open small i have to resize it and save it again. This is very random and i can't see any pattern to it.

I've tried setting the me.width and the me.detail.height to what they should be in the onload event but this doesn't seem to make a difference.

Does anyone know of any reason why this would be doing this and way of stopping it?

Thanks in advance,

Do you have the Auto Resize property set to YES?
If not, set it to YES.
And also drag the border of the form and make it slightly smaller than the form. You'll have to close and save the form for this to take effect. The next time you open the form you should see the whole thing, and if sized properly, without scroll bars too.

Have you been messing with you screen resolution?

I have been messing with the screen resolution - i swap between using the laptop monitor and the desktop flatscreen. Will this affect it?

Of course it will, unless the screen resolution is the same for both screens! The higher the resolution the smaller the form will appear! If you have to develop an app for use on different resolutions, you should develop it in the lowest resolution you expect it to be used in, then use a form resizing function for when it's used at higher resolutions. This involves a great deal of work, but fortunately someone has already done the work for you! Go to this site and scroll down to the "Access Form Resizer" and download it. I've used it before without problems, and best of all, it's FREE!

That is you problem then. The higher the resolution the smaller the form will be.
