Hi
I am a Nebe
I have a customer details form which works great
I now need a nother form ,if the customer wants a survey carried out
I need to print the form with the customers details and survey details
What would be the best approach ,I do not want to have to type all the customers details again .
I am shure i have done this in the past but cant remember how.
I have tried making a survey table ,But cant find an easy way to get the customers info on the form and survey info on the same form .if i load up all the customer detail fields it comes on to form ok but as soon as i put the survey info on the form it wont let me update the survey info and the form records change to the survey records which then if i try to look for another customer i cant
The Tbles are related ,customer to many surveys
All help greatly aprreciated

The main thing here is that you do not print forms. Forms are used to input and edit data. When you want to print data you should use a report. So, as your tables are related, create a select query with both tables and place a criteria in the field that identifies the current record displayed in the form (CustomerID?) EG =Forms!CustomerDetails.[CustomerID]. Use this query as the RecordSource for a report, that displays the Customer details and survey data.

Thanks for getting back I understand about creating the query but not shure about the criteria.can you you make it easior to undestand ,sorry

In the query editor, under the field that uniquely identifies the record displayed in the form, put the =Forms!CustomerDetails.[CustomerID] Replace CustomerDetails with the name of your form and [CustomerID] with the name of that field on the form.

Ok think i have got that .
In the query editor do i place all the fields from my customer details form that i whish to see on the report ,and all the fields from the surveys form .
Is this not going to bring up every record in my customer details table .How do i go about selecting the customer that i want .
Thank you for your time

Yes, place all the fields from your customer details form that you wish to see on the report and all the fields from the surveys form.

The criteria will restrict the results to only that record displayed on the open form, so place a command button on the form to print this report.
