I have a Form with a SubForm. The Main form draws one piece of data (the client name) from a table called TblClents and the SubForm draws several pieces of data about that client's purchases from a table called TblPurchases. When I open the Form the "Client Name" (at the top of the Form) is highlighted and when scrolling through so are all the other clients that appear in the bound text box. How do I stop the highlighting?

You could put some code in the form's On Current event along the lines of;
Code:
Me.YourControlName.SetFocus
Me.YourControlName.SelLength = 0

Is your user name a reference to The Roaring Game?

John.....thanks for the reply....you've no idea how much I appreciate it. Learning this stuff is hard (at my age) and doing it in an unstructured way is probably not the right way to do it. Anyway...yes, it is a reference to "The Roaring Game". I live in the North of Scotland where it gets pretty cold in the winter and we curl outside in a small rink in the village.

John....I also found another way (Access 2010). File > Options > Client Settings > Behaviour Entering Field > Go to start of field...

I should have mentioned earlier if you are dealing with a sub form, check this link to see how to formulate the correct reference to controls on that sub form.

My wife and I are recent converts to the game and threw our last stones for the season last night :)

Thank you for taking the time to send this link to me.....we are just entering the winter here and temperature is now below freezing every night.

Even in the depths of winter, it's still often warmer outside the rink when we finish in the evening.
