I am having a problem when trying to use the Form Wizard.

I select a table or query, but it shows no fields! Here is a screenshot:

I am running Office 2003 with the latest updates on XP Professional SP2, again with the latest updates. The install was fresh only about a week ago, and I had only used this install of Access for a few hours before it started doing it!

I have tried creating a totally new database, or using an existing database, and the same happens. This led me to believe it was my Office install. I tried doing a repair through add/remove programs, which successfully repaired Office apparently, yet the problem persists. I even totally removed Office, rebooted, and reinstalled, and tried without updates!

Can anyone suggest what I could try next?

try creating a form manually, if u are unaware of how to do this, post back

Thanks for the quick reply!

I can get into the design view, but again, I can't add list boxes - it tells me the table contains no valid fields. It isn't just the database though, as it will even do it with a fresh, blank database!

As for text boxes, if I changel the control source using the expression builder, it lists the table fields, but it still doesn't seem to work - you get #name?

sorry for the bump, but it's been a week now and I still haven't been able to fix this problem!

Anyone have any ideas? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!!

Form Wizard not working - Same Problem

I am having the identical problem with the fields not showing up in the wizard. I know how to create a subform from scratch and all but I've noticed some other things that are flaking out as well. The program crashes a lot and things that work on this machine do not work on another machine that seems to have no problem with Access. I'm wondering if whatever is causing the problem in the wizard is also causing problems in other areas. Did you ever get the fields back? I've even done a complete uninstall/reinstall and update and am still having the same, exact problems. Anyone else seeing these issues? Any ideas on how to resolve?

Thanx in advance for any help or advice.

Jenn

OK, well, I think I have found an answer, at least it works on my machine. I exit out of my antivirus (Kaspersky) and the wizard works properly. When I turn it back on, it doesn't work... so, I guess I'll be calling KAV support tomorrow and see if there is a setting that will allow me to run both at once. Maybe if anyone else is having this problem, they can try turning off their antivirus and see if they get the same results.
