Greetings, I have been searching for a thread to address but have not thus far been successful.

I wish to create a report that when printed will be cut in half (8.5" X 4.5" or 4.25" X 8") to create 2 pages to be bound in a workbook.

The report design calls for the first strings of text to write across the entire half-page and then many records to be printed in a 2-column format. Another way of saying this is page wide headers with 2-columm detail. Do note that the header is not just labels however. It would be a Grouped Header section.

I remain hopeful that there is a solution. Any advice or pointers to a resource would be greatly appreciated.

Pat,

Thank you for your quick response. I found some posts that suggested this but unfortunately this report is to be part of a commercial deployable application, thus I have no control over the printer that may be used.

I am finding some useful information as my search continues. Any other thoughts will be appreciated. If (Lord willing) I am successful I plan to share my discoveries in a sample database.

Pat,

I took a look at their site and included your comment in my notes. I'll check with them tomorrow but hope I can find a solution in the somewhat cumbersome yet pretty darn flexible Access capabilities.

As always, your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you and if you think of anything else...............:D let me know!

I have a difficult time precisely stating the requirements for this report.

The goal is to end up with 2 report pages on a single printed page so that the use can cut the report in half and then have 2 pages he/she can bind into a report. As a point of context, the report is concerned with rooms of a house and the tasks to be performed in cleaning it.

Thus each half-page report would have a heading for the room and one or more categories that the tasks actually fall in. Regardless of the page orientation, this information would be centered across the half page.

Below would be a list of all the tasks to be completed for the room. This would be in two columns, formatted down then across.

Of course it would be nice to have a page number for every one of the half pages but that is icing at this point.

I hope this provides a better picture of what I am trying to create.

Pat, Good idea! I have moved to another part of the program but will look at this when I return to the reports.
