Sorry about this - I should be able to figure it but it is one of those none-obvious things.

I want to format the background colour, font size and column headings of a subform & I cannot remember how to do it or find the posting on the forum that mentioned this. :o

Any pointers appreciated.

Two ways to go about it:

1) Open the subform itself (as in clicking it open without opening the parent form, and editing the properties.

2) When open as a subform, click on the subform's square (on upper left corner just next to the rule to get the form's properties.)

HTH.

Format Datasheet view

Hi banana,

I should have mentioned that it is in Datasheet view that I want the formatting to show. The methods described do not affect the datasheet. Neither does the format button from the menu bar.

Some time back I came across the solution to this and applied it to my DB successfully. Unfortunately, I have completely forgotten how it worked and have added another subform to the DB which is now not the same formatting as the others.

I think you need format conditions, try googling them or searching on the forum to make sure :)

Too easy - to format a datasheet you must be in datasheet view!

Hi folks,

It is one of those things that is truly so easy, if only you can remember it.

Open your form or table in datasheet view, go to Format, Datasheet, from the menu bar and all your options are there.

It is none-obvious, as everything else you do in Access is done in design view.

I hope this saves a few others some headscratching.

Workmad,

Your answer wasn't quite right but it did nudge me to finding the solution via a google search. Cheers.

http://www.functionx.com/access/Lesson23.htm is where I got the pointer I needed.
