Formatting a field in the report

Hi

This may seem like a basic question but it has me wondering.

I am trying to print barcodes of my ProductID field. The barocde font I am using (barcode 3 of 9) requires an * before and after the numeric data. eg *123456* the astrisk is required to be read by the scanner as a start and stop bit.

Now the problem is I can not get my ProductID field to include a * before and after the data when I generate my report. I don't want to place an * in the inital data entry either.
