new here, so a quick hello to you guys :D

not the best on Access or access vocab, so bear with me....this is what I want to do:

have a combo select box on a form, which has a drop down menu of values.
i would like the user to select a value from the drop down box and click a button, which then takes them to another form with more details on that value.

is that possible ?

thanks guys

yep....

in the query which your form is based on (that is the form that will display the record you choose from your list) then put in there the same field that is in your combobox and in the criteria put this....

=Forms![Form1]![Combo0]

so if your combobox bound field is [surname], then put this criteria into the field [surname]in your query..

then when you click the button the form will load and the data will look at the combobox to get the record you specified...

the other way to do it is to put a subform on the form with the combobox, and then all you do is select the record you want in the combobox and the form will change automatically...

hth
