I am trying to create a form with tab controls. I currently have the form created with a subform, I have added tab controls at the top and would like to insert my subform on a separate page, but am not sure how to do this. When I am in design view and click on the second tab nothing happens. I am not sure how to make this work.

Select the tab and then drag the subform to it. The key is to make sure you have the tab you want selected, not the tab control.

I tried that and it just inserts the subform over the main form. I must be missing something in my tab control properties.

Hmmm ....

Another method is if the subform is already on the main form ... select it, cut it and click on the tab you want on and paste it.

Cut and paste. The tabcontrol object is weird that way. When you drag , it just puts it on top of the cntrl. If you cut your subform, then click on the tab that you want, then click paste you should be fine. You will actually see little black squares all around the tab page you want when it is selected. The squares just show you the parameters of the page, but when you see them, you know that you are actually ON that page and not in front or behind.

Hope that helps. (I also struggled with this forever, kinda frustrating)

DK was off by a tad. You have to select then cut the subform, select the page, as he said, being careful that it's the page and not the entire tab control, then paste the subform onto it. If you're unsure as to waht you have selected, right click and open up the properties sheet and see what name shows; it should say Page and a number.

lol .. thanks Linq.

Apologies Jmaddog ... Now that I thought about it, I never get it right thus I always cut and paste to do it.

Thanks for all the responses - I will give it try.
