Formula in a Report

I have two fields in my report that are currencies. The names of the fields are: "ChargesThisStatementPeriod" and "CreditsThisStatementPeriod". I have another unbound field where I am trying to use a formula to add the two fields together. The formula I am putting in the field is: [ChargesThisStatementPeriod]+[CreditsThisStatementPeriod]

For some reason unknown to me, it is not returning any results. Am I typing the formula correctly? What am I missing?

Also, is there a way to put something in the calculated field when there were no credits that month so that the field does not return "#Name?" ?

Try This
NZ([ChargesThisStatementPeriod],0) + NZ([CreditsThisStatementPeriod],0)
 
You could try to add them together in your query that is behind the report. Further more you could use the IIF state to get ride of the #Name

I tried your formula and it didn't like the comma's. I took the comma's out and it still didn't like the formula.
 
Did you put the Equals sign in front of the formula
=NZ([ChargesThisStatementPeriod],0) + NZ([CreditsThisStatementPeriod],0)
