From / To Auto update

I have a form which is used to display/enter geological sample intervals with fields showing [From] and [To] metre values.
My problem occurs when I add a new record I can't get the previous [To] interval to automaically update in the next [From] field, so say the first interval is [From] 0 [To] 10m, after the Add new record activates the [From] field should read 10m in the new line.
I can get this to work with a datasheet view but not in a form.
The form with the From - to records is a sub form.

Please help I having been pulling my hair out over this for ages.

Giving us some idea of the method your using to get the previous value would have been helpful. Of course you only need to display this on the form since your not storing From, are you?

Sorry if I haven’t been clear,
These values are being entered from paper logs so there is no method as such to get the start interval. Yes I will be storing these values to a table.
What I am after is something to put in the on-click Event for the [From] field.
I will have to enter the first [From], being 0m and then the [To], say 10m. But then when I click/tab/enter into the [From] again I want the [From] to read the previous [To] value, being 10m in this case.
