Frustration abounds....

I have input fields on a form that mirror the fields in a table so that a user can add records to the table. Some of the fields, though, draw their values (in a combo box) from other tables. How do I tell Access to simply "take this new record and append it to another table"??????????????

If you want the value selected from the combo box to be saved in a particular field, set the control source of the combo box to that field. If you use the wizard to set-up the combo box, you can choose to have the combo box look up values in a particular table while having the selection saved in a field in another table.
