Any suggestions on making a gantt style chart for reservation system?
I'm thinking of doing cross tab so I can sum by room number, but could use your help so I don't spin my wheels on crosstabs as they are so much fun :)

also-I was thinking I need to sum by week in the query to create the weekly header....but I can also do this in code where I pull every 7th day and populate the text box value.

Looking to do this:

Room | Jan wk1 wk2 wk3 wk4 Feb wk1 wk2
101 | <---Smith 1/5 to 1/30-->
102 |
103 | <---JJ 1/1 to 1/15--> <--- Abba 1/25 to 2/30-->

Coach- The Orchid DB is great. I now have to think about taking my existing db and importing tables and reports into this one.
I like how the arrow bmps are hidden in the form and simply switch pix via code. nice.

If anyone else has suggestions, I'd love to hear/see them.
I'm going to keep searching for a way to print out a room gantt chart in landscape report vs. screen print this orchid. So open to suggestions if anyone else has them! Thanks! This forum helped me back in 2001 and now 10 years later its still the best forum on access.

I may just export the results to a spreadsheet and format the 'print chart' using this excel template

updated:
The excel template is nice, but my users may not be savy enough to export from access and use excel. I would rather have them stay in access.
AND I wanted to have the start/end date in the graph w/ name, which excel template did not have.

So I found this a better method for printing a reservation chart and staying within access. It is from Duane Hookom, the Calendar Reports Sample DB. Look at the crew rotation schedule, rptRotation.

Ah ... I did not notice this was in the reports forum.

Did you get a solution for printing?

I wish my client would just use your example db. The grid reservation works GREAT!
I may try to import my clients tables and see if they bite on switching over.
Then simply add the calendar report. The best of both worlds - form & report charts!
Thanks!! I'm rollin' now!
