I am much more comfortable using FilemakerPro than I am Access, as I am really only just learning about Access 2007. I am designing a database for work and do some work at home too.

My question concerns this. When I view my database at work I can see the standard colours associated with my design, but when I come home to work, for example, the tabs appear to be white and not the normal colour I would expect to see. Then too, when I add text to my database when home, everything looks fine, but once I get to work to review what I have done, suddenly much of the text I have added to memo fields is suddenly full of text markers that appear as question marks. I know that access has limited font capacity when compared to word for example, but why does this happen at work where the operating system is XP, and at home when the operating system is XP and where I use Access 2007 at both places? More generally how can I get rid of these text markers in Access?

Seems to me more like a graphics card issue. Which has the superior model.
Does the reverse happen from work to home?

Yes, the reverse happens from home to work, just as it does from work to home. And yes, I think you are probably right about it being a problem of my home desktop computer - it is some years old now, and normally I use my laptop and not it, but for design reasons it is better to use the larger real estate of the desktop monitor that the small laptop screen.
