Generate Invoices

Hi,

I am designing a database that needs to generate invoices ( a report). However, I can get the report to pick up multiple records from a table that need to appear on one invoice. What I can't do is generate a unique invoice number that needs to start at 1001 on each invoice.

Any help would be much appreciated.

this is a pain in the butt...

What you need to do is add a field for invoice number and make it an autonumber field. The problem with that is that it starts at 1. So you have to make a new (temporary) table with a field that has a value of 1000. Then make an append query that inserts that 1000 value into the autonumber field of your original table... confusing? Yeah. Or alternately you could just make 1000 records and then delete them all. I think the first option is better.
