OK got 2 tables (now downsized to one to many from many to many).
I created a form with a linked form via the wizard for the tables. I couldn't get the linked table to store the key from the primary table thus loosing the relationship entirely unless I told it specifically which record it belonged to.

OK so I've been bashing my brains out looking at my relationships thinking I'm missing something and have tried various different methods. Anyway decided to click the autoform wizard and tada its created a form with a subform (not ideally what I wanted) and it links and the relationship works a treat.

Great so I'm thinking yey I've got the relationship spot on. So I create a form with a linked form and yet again it doesn't link the records together. The Linked form shows all previous data linked with the record in the primary table, but when I try and add a new record into it it doesn't link it at all unless I specifically write in the record number it attaches to in the box.

Can someone explain this to me please its doing my nut in. I really need these linked via a button rather than having a subform.
Table 1
LandID
Address1
Address2
Address3

Table 2
OwnerID
LandID
Salutation
Forename
Surname
Address

LandID 1------oo OwnerID

cheers

Access *only* completes the ForeignKey when it is a SubForm. If it is a separate form then you will have to enter the ForeignKey, as you have discovered.
