So what do we all think about Google Chrome? I've used Firefox forever but is Chrome worth the switchover?

I never made the switch to firefox, but I have made the switch to chrome, and have used firefox a little recently. I must say that chrome is faster than both firefox and IE. The only thing is that some gaming sights won't work with Chrome.

Ah that's OK, I'm only ever on here or Wikipedia.... might give it a whirl then, ta!

I just can't get used to the address bar not being a dropdown

I've not used it up until now.... Another plus for me!

So there's nothing to worry about in terms of security, spyware and whatnot? Not that I visit shady sites but you never know....

chrome rules over everything else, but unfortunately not a lot of sites are compatible with it. the government has not even upgraded to be compatible on some of their websites! but then of course we have to remember that the rulers of technology like ms and google require everyone to upgrade to their new stuff as soon as it comes out.

one question though...
*why is the base domain part of the address bold and the rest of the url shadowed? MORE clarity? I've got clarity and customer service coming out of my a** already. LOL

Yeah I suppose it's another one of those 'do-nothing-until-you-have-to' deals, wait and see how popular Chrome is and whatnot

no...I think it's more like "don't spend money just because the big dog on the block thinks they have control"

There is that too. Have an enjoyable evening all!

Chrome is actually more standards compliant than Firefox or IE.

Chrome also technically takes more system resources than Firefox or IE. There are also plenty of ways to speed up Firefox and lower it's resources. I run mine with a slew of extensions that have made my browsing experience unique. I'd still recommend Firefox over the others.

One of these days I need to upgrade from my current browser - Mosaic as it seems that it just doesn't cut it anymore :D :D.

Of course not, that was a joke...Mosaic (which later became Netscape) would not work on Windows today. :)

i read on wiki too that NN was one of the first. all the other browsers that resemble netscape too apparently do not contain any of the code that NN was written with. that's amazing.

Safari is supposed to be the fastest browser out there. I don't use it though so that is not from personal experience. By the way, I am amazed that Lynx is still available...
