I have an Access 2003 report which has a graph on it. It worked fine for a long time. Recently it has been displaying a message "Windows installer preparing to install" and "Installing Microsoft Graph Feature" and this takes about a minute to go through whatever it does. I was wondering if anyone else had come across this and whether they had found a method of fixing it so this does not happen. Has Access lost track of a reference or something. The graph is displayed correctly after this, or if I decide to click on cancel during this "installation" it is also displayed.

Before the problem occured I had copied the database onto a memory stick and done a bit of development in other areas on another machine and then copied it back. Is this the cause of the problem. I have Windows 2000 and the other machine has Windows XP.

I would be very grateful for any light shone on this problem

Have you recently installed SP3 for Office 2003. This is known to introduce some bugs. See this link or more info.

I don't think so. On the Help on MS Access it says Office 2003 SP2. I will have a look at the link anyway. Thanks.

Had a look at the bugs on the link you mentioned and my problem isn't amongst them. Back to the drawing board. When I look at the references in the Code View, I see MS Graph 11 Object Library ticked. Is this the correct?

Same issue on my machine

I am having the same problem and cannot find a way to fix it! I am having to work on a different computer. I tried installing all add ins and reinstalling the office graphing program and nothing helped. If anyone has suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

I eventually sorted it out by taking the repair option on my Microsoft Office 03 CD. It works fine now!
