Have to click in subform to make calculation show

Hi all

I am having a problem with a link to a calculation (sums a calculation in query) in a subform (datasheet view)which also has a nested subform, I have a text box in main form to bring the calculation over, it is then recalculated with another subform (this one works well) in the same main form.

The problem is to make the calculation show in the main form, I have to actually click in the subform to make the calculation show. I want it to show straight away without needing to click in the form

Is there a better way of doing this, or did I leave something out?
