Headache with Changing the filename... ...

Hi all,

I got a headache to changing my form's filename... i am totally a newbie in Access while in the few months ago... so i just create all those form or table name's for the way i like. But now i had already know how important of management of the filename because when u r using the module to write the code u will be headache to look for the filename that u want in the code. So that is important to add 'tbl', 'frm', 'Qry' infront of the filename.

So do anyone have a good way to edit all the file name with all match to the other in the module with a quick way rather then one by one editing (really tired for one by one) Thanks!!!

The File Name

I hope that I am answering this right for you! If not I will look back later and see if it helped. I belive you are asking how to change the file name of the whole data base. This can be done outside of access. If you are using XP it is very easy with no real risk. Find where you have saved the file. If this is on a personal computer most likely in "My documents". Right click the file and click rename. Then just type in the name as you would prefer it to be.

Be careful if not using XP as the file extentension is important. This is the part that comes after the full stop. like .doc and .xls. Changing this will mean that access will no long be able to open the file. I do always recomend making a copy of the file before trying to change it. Do this by a one click selection of the file and pressing ctrl+C and then ctrl +V in a new folder.

I think the question is, is there an easy way to change From, Table, Query and Report names along with all the refrences to them.

Yes you r right Lad... you got what i mean .... and jkl0 as well.... u just give a great link to me ...the Renaming Program is really cool... but i am using Access 2003 so it won't work properly... anyway thanks for help guys but anyone have any others great idea?
