The times has reported that the TUC will debate today whether women should be allowed to wear stiletto heels at work:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1204645/Why-womens-heels-high-union-bosses-agenda.html

Not only do I find it amusing that they are now badgering us about our personal choice of footwear, but most amusing is the name of one of the reporters who wrote the article.

So gents, you can expect to see your local pole dancer in miners boots in the near future ;)

Which is always better than normalizing a spreadsheet !

No chance! I think there's something wrong with you Ron! You're the first man I've met that would rather watch a badly dressed pole dancer than normalise a spreadsheet ;)

How many inches must the heel be to qualify as a "stiletto"?

One inch minimal. Anything less than an inch is classed as a kitten. I'd never look in the direction of anything less than 3 inches when I was younger, now I'm happy with what ever is comfortable. (yes, I'm still talking about shoes ;))

To qualify as a stiletto though the heel must have the long thin taper that resembles the stiletto blade.

This is nonsense. Heels dont have any relevance to a persons work, how you dress doesnt make a difference to how you work, and if it distracts your colleagues they have the problem not yo.u
Theres a young man at our work who distracts all the women, he doensnt dress any different fromt he other men in the office but he just has that something, you know? so, if a woman is pretty she;ll have the same affect will she not?

OMG, we don't so much have a "diet coke break" at work as a a "tetley tea break", any jobs going where you are? :p

Is that Kate?

At my current place of work, we have a ventilation shaft for the subway (underground) covered by a grill in the sidewalk. The grill is just the right size to catch and break a stiletto heel.

When we take our breaks, we like to go outside and watch the young women walking down the street totally absorbed in their cell phone call who don't see the grate, don't walk around it and "snap".

There is a vacant shop right there. I am seriously thinking about opening a shoe repair shop.
