Hi

I found a link to the site in my Access Help Search Results. I happy I did. After browsing around a bit there seems to be a wealth of information available.

I would not have seen this link if my Office Help hadn't quit working a week ago. In order to get it to work again I ended up uninstalling Office and then reinstalling it using an installatino monitoring program. Using the monitoring program I wasn't given a choice to do Custom Install which I've always done. Afterwards my defualt Help option was set to Online and since it worked quite quickly I decided to leave well enough alone. Previously I always wanted the Help local in case I couldn't connect online.

I've lost the Office Help functionality previously but the Repair option for Office always worked. But not this time. All of the posts I read mentioned that they had to reinstall Office using a new user account that I was reluctant to do. And luckily these MS Office bugs are quirky enough that I didn't have to.

A bit about myself - I'm currently retired and trying to get work developing small businees application in Access. I worked in the IT Industry as an Application Developer/Designer/Anaylst for over 30 years. The last 10 in the Automotive Industry creating real time plant floor data collection system using Cimplicity in engine plants.

I'm currently finishing up an application that estimates construction costs from an Autodesk Revit Architecture exported database for an Architect here in Thailand. I've learned a lot of advanced programming tricks doing it. I've used Access since it first came out. When I began my IT career we didn't have PCs. I programmed in Cobol using IMS Databases using a dumb terminal. The first PCs in our office were in a separate area and you had to sign up for time on them. We used Microsoft products and I thought having a database on a PC was really something then. The only time I programmed Access for my job was when I was converting our users home grown applications in non MS applications to MS applications when the users were forced to give up all of there non MS software. It was really a lot of fun then. I also created 3 or 4 Access applicaitons for our departmental use over the years.

If anyone is looking for an Access Developer to work remotely I'll be happy talk with you and send you my Resume.

As a final note I past the tests to become a MS Certified Profesional first in VB6 Desktop, VB6 Distrubeted Applications then finally in VB .NET.
