Hello World

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and in fact new to MS Access. My background is in broadcast engineering and AM/FM radio engineering in particular.

I have been an MS Excel user for many years but now I finally have decided to learn something about Access. People have told me that Access is on its way out and MySQL is the better route to take. I hope I'm not going in the wrong direction.

I look forward to learning from everyone here.

Welcome Dave! Rumors of Access being on it's way out have circulated for years. They aren't true, or if they are, Microsoft hasn't bothered to tell their Access team, who are working to add features, etc.

Paul....I do not see Access included in the Office 360 services...so that triggered my question. I hope that it continues to be available for the future.

I think it depends on the plan, though I haven't used Office 365 yet.
