I have a form with name and info for a client and a continuous subform in whitch i display the contracts that the client has with my firm. I can use the Search button(binocular icon) from Access in the main form but i would like to do the same for the subform. In the subform I have a field with the date when I made the contract and i wish to be able to go directly, step by step, to all the clients that made a contract in a day I specify . With the Search option from Access I can do this but it works only for the fields in the main form, but not for subform. Please help me

:o Hello gersy!
I suggest you to try with a query.
Or remake your "mdb" in "tblDate", "tblClient", "tblContract",
and "frmDateMain", "frmClientSubform", "frmContractSubform".

Are you trying to narrow the selected records or you are trying to search all the records in the underlying table/query of a subform?
The reason why I am asking is that when you open your main form the number of records in the subform is narrowed by the linked field of the main form and subform. Now if you are trying to narrow even further you just select the date field on the subform and do the search.

The search works for the part where you have a selection

Search

So, in the main form i have tblClient and in subform tblContract, and the relation is made by field ID. When I click in a field from the main form I can use Search button for all the records in table tblClient and the Access automaticaly goes to the record I'm searching. I want now to be able to do the same but for a field in subform : so to be able to search in tblContract and go directly to the records that respect my search. The Search button from Access is searching only in the records in the subform i'm at, but i want to search in "all the subforms". I do not know if you understend want i like and sorry my bad english.

Search Forum for Search Records in Subform you'll find plenty of samples.

Create a new form, record source for this form will be a query/table with the fields you want to see and search on.
Now on the main form create a button which will open the new form.
When you open a new form it will bring you the all the records ... to limit the number of records now you can use the same binocular button you are used to ...
I guess that will solve your problem
