I have a main form that has a sub form. My sub form needs to show in datasheet view. But, the window of my form should show only 10 lines. But, if I have only one record in that form, it shows the rest of the window as black. I dont want it to do that. I want to have 10 blank lines in the form so that it doestn look so bad. I want each record to look consistent even though some records have more entries than others.

How do I do this?

Thanks for your help.

I love this forum!!!!

Adjust your thinking. Your datasheet is showing data that you have. Why would one want blank rows in a table? Indexing could possibly make the blank rows display first. Querying a table with blank might create additional problems. You'd have to account for blank rows everywhere.

Displaying then Navingation buttons on your subform shows how many records are really there; that's what you want to know.

I think the only way is to create a graphic that looks the way you want and overlay your controls

Okay, maybe I do need to adjust my thinking. The problem is that it doesnt look good with the black background. I have tried everything I know to make the black appear white to blend in with the datasheet row.

Rich's idea sounds good, but I dont know how to do that. I am still a novice but love to learn all I can.

Is there a way to change the background color?

Thanks,

Windows controls the backround colour, there is an api function to enable you to change it from Access, I'll post it if you want, but it's lengthy.
As for the datasheet backround, I think it would be easier done in word and saved as a graphic
