Help please

hi
i have tables called staff external and student

some of the staff and some of the external people will be supervisors but not all of them

the students have 3 supervisors

i have now created 2 more tables called external supervisors and staff supervisors and given them an id eg STAFFSUP23
and EXTERNALSUP34

i need these to be placed into one table i think to link it to the student table i dont know realy im confusing myself more with everything i do please help please

The two tables that you want to combine probably have similar fields. You can probably create a table with all those fields plus one to identify whether they are part of the staff or the external.

hi pat im a bit confused yes it does mean that each student has 3 supervisors so the relation table s that a junction box??

also cant i store the supervisors in a table with the student id and the supervisor types as fields and then the supervisor codes as records????

i realy dont know how to do this i could attach my database if that would help??

thanks for the response i have only just replyed because ive been finishing the database all week
